The recruitment process

To apply for any role on this website, you will need to be aware of the following:

Job Description

This gives you the basic summary and details of the job role. Read through this carefully and highlight the duties you have done before – this will help you complete the statement on your application form which will tell us why you have applied for the post.

Person Specification

This is a list of the skills you will need to demonstrate you have. We will use the criteria on the person specification to shortlist for the post. You must specify clearly on your application form how you meet the criteria.

Details of Interview Dates

Where possible we will have included the details of the dates when we will be holding interviews. We will also try and give you any information on likely interview exercises or tests that you might be asked to complete. (Specific details will be confirmed on the letter inviting candidates to interview).

Application process

It is possible to apply online, upload or post your application to us.

All applications have to be submitted by completing the application form. Unfortunately we will be unable to consider any CVs that are received.

Your personal information is detached prior to shortlisting. The panel is able to consider your application on the basis of the requirements of the post and not anything that could be considered discriminatory.

Guaranteed Interview Form

We offer disabled applicants the option of requesting that their application is considered under the terms of our guaranteed interview scheme. You will still have to demonstrate on your application form that you have the minimum level of skills from the person specification before we can interview you.

This form will not be passed to the shortlist panel but will be retained by the recruitment team until the list of candidates for interview is compiled. A request under the guaranteed interview scheme does not guarantee you a job. At interview, the best candidate will be offered the post.

Equality Monitoring Form

This form will help the Commission identify the people applying for each vacancy so that we can identify trends and review our recruitment processes. The monitoring form is voluntary but the information here is very useful as it allows us to monitor the effectiveness of our policy of equal opportunities in employment.

The monitoring form is detached from the application form when we receive it and it has no part in the shortlisting process.
