Research Manager
Glasgow Circa £34,224 Ref: PO50
On the 1st October 2007, The Equality and Human Rights Commission opened with the aim of making Britain a fairer place for all. Join us and you’ll be part of an organisation that not only champions human rights and strives to eliminate discrimination, but which also celebrates the fact that we are all equally different.
In this role you will ensure that we are provided with the high quality evidence and analysis we need to inform our policy and influencing activities. As well as managing and developing the employees within our Research and Foresight Team, you will also identify evidence needs, specify research tenders, select potential contractors for outsourced work and manage research projects. This may mean managing several externally commissioned research projects at once, monitoring them against milestones and negotiating changes to the contract as required.
Coming to us with significant professional research or research management experience, preferably related to the equality and human rights agenda, you should understand a wide range of social research methodologies. Solid experience of successfully managing complex internal or external research projects, using a full range of project management techniques, is also essential.
We actively encourage applications from groups in society that are currently under represented and from candidates who want to work flexibly or part-time.
We can provide vacancy details in a range of accessible formats.
